At Kent State Ashtabula, many students juggle work, family responsibilities, and full course loads. When an unexpected emergency strikes, the financial impact can derail even the most dedicated students. The Kent State Ashtabula Emergency Grant Fund exists to help them stay focused on their education during crisis moments.
The fund provides essential support for expenses such as tuition, fees, food, shelter, educationally related technology, and emergency travel, the types of costs that can quickly push students off course without help.
“The Emergency Grant Fund helps our students stay on track when a true emergency threatens their ability to continue their studies,” said Lori Lee, Director of Enrollment Management and Student Services. "Emergencies can quickly overwhelm students who are already balancing so much. Having this fund means we can step in right away and help them keep moving forward with their education.”
This Giving Tuesday, the Ashtabula Area College Committee has generously pledged $5,000 to match all gifts to the Kent State Ashtabula Emergency Grant Fund.
A single act of generosity can ensure a student in crisis finds stability, support, and hope.
