Scholarships are available and awarded based on financial need. Scholarships may come in the form of host families, donors who provide funding for our young artists to stay on-campus in the residence halls or funding toward the program fee.
Young Artists will perform in Chamber Music Recitals. They will perform in a chamber orchestra led by the Assistant Conductor of The Cleveland Orchestra. And, will also perform side-by-side with The Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom Music Center.
Our faculty are musicians from The Cleveland Orchestra, Kent State University, and visiting artists. Every young artist will be assigned to 3-4 faculty depending on their availability and their schedules. We accept 43 Young Artists every year in the following disciplines: 12 violins, 6 violas, 6 cellos, 1 double bass, 2 flutes, 3 oboes, 3 clarinets, 3 bassoons, 3 french horns, and 4 pianos.
The Kent Blossom Music Festival takes place in the Center for the Performing Arts at the Kent State University Kent Campus in Kent, Ohio. Young artists will spend 5 weeks at Kent State University.
The Kent Blossom Music Festival is open to musicians of all ages, ranging from talented high school conservatory students to post-doctoral professionals. The festival will provide an opportunity for young artists to hone their skills in chamber music as well as experience playing at a professional level in a side-by-side performance with The Cleveland Orchestra.
