Concluding the Kent/Blossom Music Festival Faculty Series will be members of The Cleveland Orchestra Barrick Stees, assistant principal bassoon; Frank Rosenwein, principal oboe; Richard Weiss, first assistant principal cello; and Kent State University faculty member and Steinway Artist Jerry Wong, piano. Together they will perform an exciting program on Wednesday, July 26 at 7:30 p.m. in Ludwig Recital Hall at 1325 Theatre Drive in the Center for Performing Arts on the Kent State University Kent campus. Free parking.

The fourth concert of the Kent/Blossom Music Festival Faculty Series will feature several members of The Cleveland Orchestra including assistant principal clarinetist Daniel McKelway; former principal horn and current section member Richard King; and viola section member Lembi Veskimets. Joining them will be soprano Amelia Baisley and pianist Hyunsoon Whang.

Mark Kosower, a consummate artist equally at home internationally as a recital and concerto soloist and as principal cello of the Cleveland Orchestra, launches his 2016/17 concert season performing the Haydn C Major Concerto with Jorge Mester and the Orquesta Filarmónica Boca del Rio in Mexico. In addition to his prominent performing career, he is Teacher of Cello at the Cleveland Institute of Music and is on the faculty at the Kent/Blossom Music Festival.

Violinist Jennifer Koh, our 2017 Kulas Guest Artist, is recognized for her intense, commanding performances, delivered with dazzling virtuosity and technical assurance. An adventurous musician, she collaborates with artists of multiple disciplines and curates projects that find connections between music of all eras from traditional to contemporary. She believes that all the arts and music of the past and present form a continuum and has premiered over 50 works written especially for her.
