Cooper Moore, fourth year Architecture student at Kent State’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design, has been named Midwest Quad Director of the American Institute of Architects Students (AIAS).

As director, Moore oversees the 49 chapters of the Midwest region and is a voting member of the AIAS National Board of Directors. He will be meeting with chapters regularly to provide updates and to hear reports from each of them. He will also be chairing two national AIAS Committees: The National Membership Committee and the National Social Justice Task Force.

Among Moore’s goals for the year are the organization’s response to the ongoing pandemic and related issues students face. Moore states, “I'm focusing a lot on engagement and keeping everyone focused. Our year doesn't look the way we had imagined it, but that doesn't mean the work we do is any less important. I'm trying to keep everyone connected with each other and ensure we all have up-to-date information at all times.” One of his specific goals is to create a Health & Wellness Week that promotes healthy habits and wellbeing during COVID-19.
