Freeland is an artist/maker who earned his MFA in Furniture Design from the Herron School of Art and Design and BFA in Ceramics from the Cleveland Institute of Art. His work has been featured in over 18 exhibitions and he has numerous three-dimensional works in private collections. For the past four years, Freeland has been Director of Fabrication Studios at the Cleveland Institute of Art comprised of a woodshop, prototyping lab dedicated to plastics and foam, a machine shop, a metal shop, and shops dedicated to plaster, stone and clay work. There he was instrumental in designing and consolidating those workshops for high-volume multidisciplinary use in their new location. Freeland has also taught, worked as a general contractor and coordinated commercial and residential interiors and exteriors in Ohio, New York, Maryland, Virginia and Indiana.
