Education Abroad Photo & Video Contest
Are you looking for a way to share your education abroad experience with the Kent State community? For I Heart Travel Week, the Office of Global Education is hosting a photo and video contest for current and past education abroad participants!
Winning photos and videos will be featured on the Education Abroad social media pages. For your chance to win, please review the information below!
Categories
- Photos and Videos: Flashes Abroad
- Submit photos or videos that showcase your love of Kent State while abroad.
- Photos and Videos: The Classroom Expanded
- Submit photos or videos that showcase your learning in or out of the classroom. Photos or videos can be from internships, school events, in the classroom, on campus, class excursions, and more!
- Photos and Videos: Cultural Connections
- Submit photos or videos that showcase the local culture in your host community. Photos or videos can be of you trying local foods, taking part in cultural activities or events, visiting a local market, going to a museum, and more!
- Photos and Videos: Scenic Highlights:
- Submit photos or videos that showcase the local scenery or important landmarks in your host community.
- Videos Only: Giving Back:
- Submit videos that give back to future education abroad students by giving advice, tours, tips for living like a local, or anything else you think they may find helpful!
Prizes
One winner will be selected from each category and medium (photo and video). There will be 10 winners total! Winning photos and videos will also be featured on the Education Abroad social media pages.
Submission
You can submit up to 8 photos or videos by February 17, 2024. You will need to submit the following information for each photo or video:
- Location of the photo or video
- Why you chose the photo or video

Guidelines
- You must be a current Kent State student
- Photos and videos must be from your time on a Kent State sponsored education abroad program
- Photos and videos must be your own original work
- Photos and videos should not be overly edited and should not use filters
- Photos and videos should be appropriate
- Photos and videos must be under 1GB
Judging
The Office of Global Education staff will narrow down the submissions for each category. Each photo and video will be judged with attention to how well it fits the chosen category, the story behind it, and the quality.
The winning photos and videos from each category will be announced and featured on our Instagram during the week of February 18 - 22. You can find the announcement schedule below.
