Accessing Software and Using Enterprise Applications
Installing and using Microsoft Office
Microsoft Office should already be installed on your university-owned laptop; however, if you need to install it on your computer, please follow the instructions on our Office 365 Microsoft Office article.
Accessing Enterprise Applications
You will need to connect to Kent State enterprise applications from off-site via a VPN.
-
To gain access to enterprise systems (e.g., Banner Admin Pages, Cognos Reporting, and Document Imaging), please complete the Request for Remote Access to Administrative Systems form then forward it to the Access Management team.
-
You can find additional information on systems access from the Office of Security and Access Management.
-
The FortiClient VPN will work for accessing most university systems; however, if you currently use the GlobalProtect VPN with DUO to access privileged data and do not have it installed on your work-from-home device, you can install the VPN on university-owned computers from the Microsoft Software Center on Windows or Self-Service on Mac.
