Kent State Ashtabula Celebrates Fall Graduates at 81st Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 11

Kent State University at Ashtabula will honor the fall graduating class when it holds the campus’s 81st commencement ceremony on Thursday, December 11, 2025, beginning at 6 p.m. in the gymnasium of Susan J. Stocker Hall.

“Commencement represents an important milestone in every student’s journey,” said Dean and Chief Administrative Officer R. William (Bill) Ayres IV, Ph.D. “It’s a wonderful occasion and an inspiring evening to gather as a campus community to celebrate their achievements and accomplishments, as well as the bright futures they’re stepping into.”

Nearly 100 graduates will be recognized at the ceremony, and the Ashtabula Area College Committee, Inc. will also hand out its academic achievement awards.

Student speakers will include Mackenzie DiPofi, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and Aiden Pho, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English.

“We all share the pride in our graduating students and the excitement for what lies ahead,” Ayres said. “Our faculty and staff remain deeply committed to helping students reach their goals and to equipping them with the support and resources they need to succeed — both in their careers and as contributors to their communities.

Earlier in the evening, the Associate Degree in Nursing program will hold its traditional pinning ceremony in the Stocker Hall Auditorium, and the Respiratory Therapy program will host its pinning ceremony in Robert S. Morrison Hall.

For those unable to attend in person, the commencement ceremony will be streamed live and later archived on the campus YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/ksuashtabula
