This weekend marks a significant milestone for Kent State University’s Regional Campus system as more than 1,700 graduates are honored in commencement ceremonies across Northeast Ohio. On campuses spanning from Lake Erie to the Ohio River, these celebrations highlight the academic achievements and work readiness of its learners.

Just two years after its launch, Kent State University’s Bachelor of Social Work program is seeing its first cohort of students graduate this semester. Nearly 20 students will walk across stages at the Ashtabula, Salem and Tuscarawas campuses this month, the latest milestone in this rapidly growing program.

Kent State University at Ashtabula will honor the spring graduating class when it holds the campus’s 80th commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 8, 2025, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Susan J. Stocker Hall gymnasium.

“Commencement is a major milestone in the lives of our students,” said Dean and Chief Administrative Officer R. William (Bill) Ayres IV, Ph.D. “It’s such a special night to celebrate the accomplishments and achievements of these graduates here on campus and in the familiar and intimate environment the event deserves.”
