Respiratory Therapy Clinical Director Amy Rodenhausen Appointed to Ohio Medical Board Advisory Council

Selected as one of 7 state-wide appointees

Amy Rodenhausen, M.Ed., RRT, Director of Clinical Education in the Respiratory Therapy program at Kent State University at Ashtabula was recently appointed to the first Respiratory Therapy Advisory Council to the State Medical Board of Ohio.  Rodenhausen is one of seven appointees to the council.

“I am honored to be selected to represent our profession and assist the Ohio Medical Board,” Rodenhausen said.  “I am excited to work with my fellow advisory council members to make recommendations that will impact the practice of Respiratory Care in Ohio.”

The Advisory Council was selected by the Ohio Medical Board from recommendations through the Ohio Society for Respiratory Care.  The new council replaces the Ohio Respiratory Care Board (ORCB) which was consolidated into the Medical Board with the passage of House Bill 49 in 2017. The role of the council will be to advise the Medical Board on respiratory care related issues.

Rodenhausen has been with the Ashtabula campus since 2010 and prior to that was a respiratory therapist supervisor at Cleveland Clinic for nearly 11 years and a clinical instructor at Lakeland Community College.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care degree from Youngstown State University and a Master of Education degree from Kent State. She will begin her term in May.
