The School of Fashion is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Xingqiu Lou as an assistant professor beginning in Fall 2023! Dr. Lou holds a B.S. degree in fashion design and engineering from the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. She pursued an M.S. degree in fashion and apparel studies from the University of Delaware and an M.S. degree in statistics from North Carolina State University. The Flying Flashes are once again taking on the Air Race Classic! After the success of last year’s team, Laura Wilson and Peyton Turner will be teaming up to fly in the annual competition of female pilots spanning nearly 2,400 miles. This year is the 46th year of the competition, bringing together pilots of all ages and diverse backgrounds to compete against other passionate pilots for first place. It is a reflection on how clothes are incorporated into a life. Influences on his style range from film references, favorite designers' collections, a love of fine craftmanship and playful reinterpretation of classic menswear.
Kent State Trumbull's Honors College, with the support of the English Club and SEEDS Bible Club, joined forces for a program called "Making Hearts Warm." Students made and donated almost 30 blankets to Rock4Reason, a local organization that helps families in the Mahoning Valley impacted by cancer and terminal illness. Every blanket will be given to a local cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy treatments.
