Denise Karshner, MA

In December 2015, I joined the College of Nursing’s Center for Nursing Research as the Grants Administrator. Prior to my arrival at Kent State University, I worked as a Grant Writer for Stark State College, helping faculty and staff to write, edit, and submit proposals supporting a broad range of student programs and initiatives. My experience also includes administrative and library reference work at other educational institutions, as well as freelance writing and editing.

As the College of Nursing's Senior Grants Administrator, I help to prepare, write, and edit grant proposals supporting both faculty research efforts and nursing student success. I also review and edit faculty manuscripts for publication and provide assistance with a variety of other scholarly projects, including IRB applications, presentation materials, College of Nursing reports, and the quarterly research newsletter.
