Freshmen at McKinley High School in Canton now have a chance to enroll in a new program that, when completed, will guarantee their admission into a local four-year university and significant college financial help when they are graduated from high school.
The Bulldog Flash Academic Institute is a new partnership between Kent State University at Stark and Canton McKinley Senior High School that plans to usher approximately 25 McKinley freshmen each year through the process of becoming college ready.

Kent State University's holiday closure for 2024 will begin Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at 10:30 p.m. All offices will re-open on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. Employees not eligible for the paid leave include student employees, classified temporary staff, temporary agency staff, short-term unclassified appointments, unclassified intermittent appointments and employees in a lay-off status. More information on the holiday schedule, including how employees should report time during that period, will be available later this month.
