Remembering Steven Hook

Remembering our friend and colleague Dr. Steven Hook (1959-2022) 

Dr. Steven Wallace Hook passed away peacefully, on September 24, at the age of 63, in Kent, OH as a result of frontotemporal dementia. At his death, Dr. Hook was the preeminent writer of American foreign policy textbooks in the English language. He also loving mentoring young minds through his teaching, and traveling to share his knowledge in places like China, India, Turkey, England, and Qatar. Steve received Kent State University's Distinguished Teaching Award in 2007 and served as the chair of the Political Science Department from 2008 to 2012. He retired in 2019 as Professor Emeritus and in 2021, received an official commendation from the Ohio Senate. His legacy lives on every day through the knowledge he helped instill in his students, and the department he helped build.
