WEWS-TV visits Kent State to talk about companies paying off their employees' student loan debts.

Lucas Engelhardt, Ph.D., associate professor in Kent State University at Stark’s Department of Economics, is a firm believer in pursing innovation and investing in capital, when it comes to driving economic growth in cities. 

Kent State University’s College of Business Administration and Department of Economics are ranked in the top 25 percent of research institutions in Ohio by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. In addition, Kent State’s Lockwood Reynolds, Ph.D., an associate professor of economics, is ranked in the top 100 economists worldwide whose first publication was five or fewer years ago.

An education-abroad trip to China this past summer got Kent State University student Garmai Matthew started on the path to actualizing her dream of promoting sustainable fashion. Matthew, an economics major with an international business and Chinese minor, along with five other Kent State students collaborated on research projects with students from Hebei Normal University in the Shijiazhuang Province of China during a three-week, field-experience trip.
