Sandy Scheuer was on her way to class on May 4, 1970, when she was shot and killed by Ohio National Guardsmen responding to protests of the Vietnam War at Kent State University. She was a junior honors student, a speech therapy major and a proud member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority.
“Sandy’s Scrapbook,” a new exhibition at Kent State University’s May 4 Visitors Center, pays tribute to the life of Sandy Scheuer.
Callie Mo is no ordinary high school senior. In addition to her coursework, she is designing a website and interning at IdeaBase, Kent State University’s student-powered design agency specializing in graphic design, web design, usability, branding, video and advertising.
Mo attends Bio-Med, a new lottery-based science, technology, engineering, math and medical high school in Rootstown, Ohio. The school focuses on collaborative learning and offers a variety of experiential opportunities, including study abroad and internships, for its students.
Kent, Ohio, May 27, 2015 — IdeaBase, a Kent State student-powered design firm based in Kent, OH, celebrates the launch of the new State Library of Ohio website. The site, which features a new interface, improved site navigation, and enhanced search functionality, was designed and developed by IdeaBase and was launched today by the State Library of Ohio.
“Working with IdeaBase was a wonderful experience,” expressed State Librarian Beverly Cain. “The team assigned to our project was responsive, creative, and dedicated to providing a finished product that truly met our needs.”
Creative teams across Kent State University were honored with one gold and five silver awards at the Akron chapter of the 2015 American Advertising Federation’s 2015 ADDY Awards ceremony.
Kent State’s University Communications and Marketing team; IdeaBase, a student-run integrated marketing communications agency of the College of Communication and Information in downtown Kent; and Glyphix, a student-run design agency within the School of Visual Communication Design, took home awards.
