Cuyahoga Falls, OH - Porthouse Theatre, Kent State University’s outdoor, summer theatre located on the grounds of Blossom Music Center, will present its 51st season during the summer of 2019 with "Man of La Mancha," "Tintypes," and "The Music Man."

Porthouse Theatre is thrilled to be the recipient of multiple honors for achievements during the 2018 Season.

This year, Porthouse Theatre was recognized with awards in multiple categories by Cleveland SCENE magazine, the Cleveland Jewish News, and the Cleveland Critics Circle.

Porthouse Theatre is thrilled to be recognized by the Cleveland Critics' Circle for achievements during its 2017 Season.

The annual Cleveland Critics Circle Theater Awards, released on December 18, 2017, awarded Porthouse Theatre's production of "Newsies" honors in the categories of Best Musical, Best Director of a Musical, Best Music Direction, and Best Choreography. Porthouse was also recognized for Superior Achievement in several other categories.

Porthouse Theatre's production of Disney's "Newsies," an area premiere, was recognized as 2017's Best Musical production.

Cuyahoga Falls, OH - Porthouse Theatre, Kent State University’s outdoor, summer theatre located on the grounds of Blossom Music Center, will celebrate its 50th Anniversary Season with "Anything Goes," "Next to Normal," and "Oklahoma!".

Kent, OH – Porthouse Theatre, Kent State University's summer professional theatre, was awarded a $23,615 sustainability grant by the Ohio Arts Council during the body's summer board meeting on July 19.

The grant helps Porthouse Theatre provide high quality theatre and arts education to the Northeast Ohio community. Specifically, the grant allows Porthouse to continue offering its academies for high school, college, and international students as well as community nights that provide free tickets to patrons that otherwise would not be able to attend the theatre.

Porthouse Theatre is offering a fantastic opportunity for members of the "Ain't Misbehavin'" audience! 

During each performance of "Ain't Misbehavin'," four cafe tables will be placed on stage – with a bottle of wine – and for $100 you and a guest can sit on stage and enjoy the show from a very special vantage point.

Cuyahoga Falls, OH - Porthouse Theatre, Kent State University’s outdoor, summer theatre located on the grounds of Blossom Music Center, will close its 49th season with the area premiere of "Disney's Newsies."

Directed by producing artistic director Terri Kent, “Newsies” opens July 28 and runs through August 13. A preview performance will take place on July 27.
