KSU (kent.edu) email is the universities official form of communication. We communicate important information about your financial aid, bill, housing, ect. Check your KSU email daily!
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. Students can complete the FERPA Authorization, allowing One Stop Staff to speak with a Parent/Guardian/Advocate regarding a student’s account. The student must complete the following steps before a Parent/Guardian/Advocate can contact the One Stop for Student Services.

The Enrollment Fee allows students to confirm their place in the Freshman class. The enrollment fee is $150 and is a one-time fee that covers the cost for Destination Kent State and other new student activities. The deadline to submit the enrollment fee is May 1, 2018.The Enrollment Fee must be paid prior to registration for Destination Kent State.
To pay the Enrollment Fee online:
If you prefer, you may mail in a $150 check payable to Kent State Admissions Office (800 E Summit Rd, 161 Schwartz Center, Kent OH 44242. Please write the Kent State identification number in the memo line of the check to ensure that the payment is credited to the correct students account. Phone payment will not be accepted.

The Tuition Guarantee Plan provides eligible undergraduate* and transfer** students and their families the certainty that their Ohio resident tuition rate (i.e., instructional and general fee), career services fee, room and board plan charges will not increase during their applicable cohort period. The plan delivers on the university’s goal of offering a predictable and stable pricing structure for students and their families.
Participation in the program is required for all new first-year undergraduate students and eligible transfer students enrolling in a degree-seeking program at Kent State University for the first time on, or after, Fall Semester 2018.

The Fall 2019 bill will be issued on July 16, 2019. You will receive an email notification to your kent.edu email address once they are issued. No paper bills are mailed. The first due date for Fall 2019 is Friday, August 2, 2019. For planning purposes, you will receive financial planner at DKS (Destination Kent State).
New freshman will receive a mailed award letter mailed to their permanent address listed on the admissions application, approximately, three weeks after all financial aid requirements in FlashLine are complete. Students will have access to view their financial aid awards in FlashLine prior to receiving the mailed award letter. To see any outstanding Financial Aid requirements that may prevent your award:
Any scholarships administered by the financial aid office will be awarded after June 15 for Fall 2018/Spring 2019. Scholarship awards administered by other on-campus departments will vary.
Fall/Spring PLUS applications are available on May 1. The parent borrowing the loan will need to log into www.studentloans.gov and select the option to request a PLUS Loan. The parent must use their FSA ID to sign-in. Visit https://fsaid.ed.gov to obtain more information. Please allow 5-7 business days for processing of the PLUS loan application at Kent State.

Fall 2018 Move-in Day for new students is August 19th (unless enrolled in a special program).
