Property Description:

The Urban property is approximately 18 acres and is located north of State Route 261 in Franklin Township in Portage County, Ohio.  The property is bordered by residential land use to the north and west, Campus Center Drive runs through the property just west of the middle, and the KSU baseball fields are located along the northern property line on the eastern side.  This site is within the Cuyahoga watershed and consists of a majority of mixed hardwood forest and a creek that runs along the northern border of the property, east of Campus Center Drive and just south of the open area part of the Ensinger and Ravenna Housing properties.  Old growth forest can be found near the western part of the property, west of Campus Center Drive, with some mid-successional aged trees throughout, and the understory is open with little growth and no defined walking trail.  The remaining hardwood forested areas are mid-successional forest and are located east of Campus Center Drive, just west of the baseball fields, and some past evidence of logging or management can be seen.
