DIANE SAUER NAMED KENT STATE UNIVERSITY AT TRUMBULL’S SPRING COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER

Commencement happens Saturday, May 12 at Packard Music Hall

Kent State University at Trumbull proudly announces Diane Sauer, president and owner of Diane Sauer Chevrolet, Inc., as its 2018 Spring Commencement speaker. The university expects a large turnout from its more than 200 graduating students. The ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 12 at 6 p.m. in Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. in Warren.

Sauer was born and raised in Coldwater, Ohio and graduated from Coldwater High School.  She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Finance from The Ohio State University.

In 1976, she began working in the accounting department at Martin Chevrolet.  She was promoted to office manager in 1977 and to general manager in 1983. In 1993, she signed a buy-sell to purchase the dealership over a 10-year period. The following year, she became a franchised Chevrolet dealer. In 2003 she completed the buy-sell and changed the name of the dealership to Diane Sauer Chevrolet, Inc.

“As our campus moves toward its new strategic vision for working with community partners, the Kent State University system, and our students to maximize our campus assets and build our capacity for contributing to a vibrant Trumbull County, Diane Sauer is an excellent choice,“ said Dr. Lance Grahn, Dean and Chief Administrative Officer, Kent State University at Trumbull. “We are thrilled to share in her hard work, passion, and purpose.”

Earlier that day, Kent State Trumbull is providing a charter bus for graduates who want to participate in Kent State’s university-wide Commencement ceremony where Oscar-nominated actor Michael Keaton will return to the campus he once walked as a student while dreaming about making it big in Hollywood.
