College Credit Plus

College Credit Plus at Kent State University is designed to provide qualified public high school students with the opportunity to enhance their high school education with a true college experience. The CCP program is not intended to replace coursework available in high school, or to provide high school students with a full-time college course load. Students accepted into the CCP program typically select courses from Kent State University’s Kent Core Requirements. Registration for CCP students will take placed after pre-registration for Kent State students. Be advised that course availability could be limited. CCP students should come prepared with several course options when meeting with CCP advisor.

  • Option A
Under this option A, the student is responsible for paying the entire cost of the program directly to Kent State University. The student chooses to receive both high school and college credit, or only college credit. If the student chooses college credit only, the grade for the course is not factored into the high school grade point average.
  • Option B
By selecting Option B, high school students may earn both high school and college credit without paying tuition. Under Option B, students may also borrow required textbooks and course materials at no charge. Some exceptions may apply. Admitted Option A and Option B CCP students will be considered Kent State University students and are accountable for all policies, rules, procedures, and deadlines in effect for students of Kent State University. These include items related to tuition payments, textbooks, advising, and registration. Students are expected to be familiar with the CCP Student Handbook, as well as the information in the Schedule of Classes and Undergraduate Catalog.
