Due to Covid-19 indoor restrictions and contact tracing, we will be held three separate ceremonies:
11 AM – certificates (i.e. Police Academy) and associate degrees
2 PM - Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (only)
5 PM – bachelor degrees (other than nursing)
Graduates are permitted to bring a total of 4 guests to the ceremony. We cannot accommodate any other requests for additional guests due to local health department Covid-19 guidelines. Graduates must be able to report the names and phone numbers of their guests for contact tracing if contacted by the health department.
Masks are REQUIRED to be worn, social distancing and sanitizing procedures will be practiced.
Kent campus will be hosting a number of Commencement ceremony opportunities for all associate and bachelor degree candidates. Please visit https://www.kent.edu/commencement for a detailed schedule of events to be held at Kent Campus May 10-21, 2021. You are permitted to attend one or both ceremonies (Trumbull Campus and Kent Campus). RSVP responses are REQUIRED for all ceremonies. If you have RSVP’d that you will be attending the Kent Campus ceremony and do not wish to attend, you will need to email email@example.com with your name, Banner ID number, and degree to let them know that you will not be attending .
Each ceremony at Packard Music Hall will last approximately one hour. To RSVP, do the following:
- Police Academy and associate degrees, email Patti Limperos with "11am" in the subject line
- Nursing degree, email Patti Limperos with "2pm" in the subject line
- Bachelor degrees (other than nursing), email Patti Limperos with "5pm" in the subject line
- If you are not attending, email Patti Limperos and let her know.
The deadline to RSVP is April 21, 2021 – NO EXCEPTIONS. All check-in details specific to your graduation ceremony time will be delivered via your Kent State email once we receive your RSVP.
Caps, gowns, tassels, and other regalia are available for sale in the Trumbull Campus bookstore. Please stop by Monday thru Thursday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM or call the bookstore (330) 675-8852 for availability and prices. You must let them know if you are a bachelor degree student so they give you the correct tassel, as bachelor degree tassels are not the black tassels that come with the cap and gown package. If you are graduating with honors, please note that all honors cords are being mailed directly to you from Kent Campus.
Graduates with a Disability and Seating for Guests with Disabilities:
Please notify Patti Limperos by April 30, 2021 if you are a graduate (or have guests) with special seating needs or need interpretive services for the hearing impaired.
There will be areas designated for guests with special seating needs at Packard Music Hall. Notify our Kent State Trumbull staff at the check-in desk and they will assist guests to the designated area.

In order to be eligible for graduation, you must complete an application either in the Office of Student Services, or in your college office at the Kent Campus.
