Construction Management Students Ranked in the Top 10

Construction Management students from the College of Architecture and Environmental Design presented a project at the 2019 Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) Convention. Out of 50 nationally ranked schools that presented their project, the Kent State student team took 8th place. This year’s project was a renovation of Indiana University’s Memorial Football Stadium. The challenges of this project included an estimate of all HVAC and plumbing work, and design of the food service piping. The team had to create a mock company and include company history, past projects, financial information and backlog. They were also required to submit safety plan, logistics plan and quality control plan. Finally, the students had to use minorty subcontractors and research local minority owned companies to use during the project, as well as submit a service contract.
