Construction Management students after competition win

We are pleased to announce another first place finish at the University of Cincinnati's New Builder's Competition-Commercial Construction Division! This marks Kent State's third year in a row winning this competition. This year the team had to create an estimate, schedule, quality control plan, safety plan, logistics, and more for Cedarville University’s 15,000 sqft. library addition. They then presented in front of a panel of judges, who are actively building the project. This project posed a multitude of challenges, including building on an active campus, unique project characteristics (working with Chick-Fil-A and Tossed), and worked alongside an active lake that had to be protected.

The judging firm was Danis Contractors. They spoke very highly of Kent State University’s Construction Management program.

The team consisted of:

  • Aundreas Naylor
  • Emily Haldi
  • Nicholas Kukura
  • Leah Fritz
  • Michael Rudbart
  • Aundohemba Unongo
  • Natori Thomas
  • Upperclassman Coach: Kyle Hennosy
  • Upperclassman Coach: Zoë Robertson
  • Faculty Advisor: Professor Anthony Mirando

This is a testament to our program, faculty and amazing students! It is very good for our students to compete with other major Ohio institutions and get the first rank year after year. We are certainly building a great reputation. We are proud of our students!
