- The One Stop for Student Services is the hub for all resources for financial aid, scholarships, billing, payments, student records, academic transcripts and financial wellness.

2. Financial Aid
Let’s get down to business. The next steps are extremely crucial to ensure that you are off on the right financial foot at Kent State University. In order to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and receive federal aid, you must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen.
- FIRST, did you complete all required steps to receive your financial aid awards? View, accept or decline your Financial Aid Award in FlashLine.
- SECOND, review your Financial Aid Status in FlashLine to make sure all outstanding requirements are complete.

3. Billing
- Your Fall 2021 semester bill is due on Friday, August 6, 2021.
- These charges include tuition, program fees, housing and meal plans (if applicable).
- You will receive an e-mail (to your @kent.edu account) notification on July 20,2021 advising you that your invoice is available in FlashLine. You will not receive a bill in the mail.
You will not have tuition charges on your bill until you register for classes.
4. Payment Options
There are multiple ways to pay your bill (if a balance exists) after your financial aid has been applied.
- Personal Payments
- Pay online with checking account or debit/credit card.
- Pay from anywhere in the world with Flywire.
- Pay in person using the secure payment drop box in the Schwartz Center.
- Pay by mail
- Checks should be made payable to Kent State University. Please be sure to include your name and KSU ID number with the payment.

- 529 Prepaid College Plan
Go to Pay Online and proceed as if you were using a credit card. Click the “Link my 529 Savings Plan” button in the Payment Method box. If your provider is not listed, you will need to contact them for the payment to be sent by mail. - Monthly Payment Plans
Your balance can be divided into monthly payments - up to six payments for fall semester and five for spring. Please reference the Payment Plan Options page for specific information.
5. Additional Financial Assistance
Do you need additional financial assistance to pay your balance?
Here are some options to help you cover your balance after your financial aid has been applied:
- Apply for additional scholarships.
- Apply for a Federal Direct Parent PLUS loan (for parents only).
- Set up a monthly payment plan via FlashLine.
- Submit a Special Circumstances application for loss of income.
- Apply for a private student loan.

6. Refund
- If your financial aid and scholarship dollars exceed the amount you owe, a refund will be issued.
- Look for the bright green envelope in the mail. Read it and choose your refund preference.
- Don’t throw it away! Refund processing begins seven days prior to the start of each semester and is processed through BankMobile.

You need to choose a refund preference even if you are not expecting a refund.

7. FERPA
Please be aware of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).
- FERPA is a Federal Law that protects the privacy of students’ education records, both financial and academic, and limits release of your student record information without your written consent.
- To grant access to your parent(s)/guardian(s), complete the Student Record Policy FERPA release form on FlashLine.
Flash Tip!
Even if someone else is paying for your education, they will not be able to speak to anyone on campus about you until you have a FERPA release on file!
