Veteran's Day Event

All are invited to pay tribute to those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. A special invitation is extended to Kent State faculty, staff, students and community members who are veterans, active service members or who have family members in the military.

Kent State will pay tribute to those who have served in the United States Armed Forces on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. on the Student Green at Risman Plaza.

Winner of the 2021 Stan and Tom Wick Poetry Prize, Farnaz Fatemi, was invited to the Kiva auditorium on Oct. 20 to read select poems from her acclaimed book, “Sister Tongue.” The collection of poetry, published by Kent State University Press in August, tells the tale of the author’s Iranian-American upbringing, the depth of her ancestral roots and the complexities of being raised into two different communities speaking both English and Farsi. “When I was a kid, I knew enough to know that people hated Iranians in Southern California in the late '70s,” she said. “I knew lots of things about ...

Federal Student Loan Debt Relief Info Session

The University Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid at Kent State will be providing an information session on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at noon (EDT) and a second session at 5:30 p.m. (EDT) to assist students, alumni and university community members. The sessions will provide an overview of the one-time time Federal Student Loan Debt Relief program application that launched on October 17, 2022 and ends December 31, 2023.

Kent State University’s LaunchNET celebrated its 10th anniversary on Thursday and cut the ribbon on its new office suite in the Design Innovation Hub.   The unveiling was of the Burton D.
