Kent State University’s College of Applied Engineering, Sustainability and Technology will receive a $1.5 million gift from FedEx over three years. The gift will support the university’s flight program, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2017 and has outgrown current facilities at the Kent State University Airport.

FedEx Express donation has jumpstarted fundraising for the new Aeronautics building at the Kent State Airport.

Kent State University’s College of Applied Engineering, Sustainability and Technology will receive a $1.5 million gift from FedEx over three years. The gift will support the university’s flight program, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2017 and has outgrown current facilities at the Kent State University Airport. 

The Aeronautics Department in Kent State University’s College of Applied Engineering, Sustainability and Technology will host its 20th Aeronautics Fair on Saturday, Sept. 10. The Kent State University Aeronautics Fair takes place 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Andrew W. Paton Field at the Kent State University Airport, located at 4020 Kent Road in Stow.

Nor is it hard to see why Fisch, an assistant professor in the College of Applied Engineering, Sustainability and Technology, is July’s Scholar of the Month.

At first glance, it looks like an ordinary black glove with a white palm. But if you take a closer look, you will see it is equipped with sensors and a speaker. The glove is in the early stages of helping those who use American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate with those who do not.

To hear Kent State University Assistant Professor Yanhai Du, Ph.D., in the College of Applied Engineering, Sustainability and Technology tell it, however, the impact of modern and emerging fuel cell technology is anything but basic.

Fuel cells have the potential to deliver on the promise of the elusive cold-fusion theory of the 1990s – clean, super-efficient, affordable energy that could reduce carbon emissions exponentially.

Aeronautics Program to receive a Cessna aircraft and an internship opportunity for a Kent State student 

Kent State University’s Aeronautics Program in the College of Applied Engineering, Sustainability and Technology is one of four universities nationwide to be selected as a partner school for Cessna’s 2016 Top Hawk program. The program encourages the pursuit of careers in aviation and provides students access to industry-leading aircraft. The program also offers an internship opportunity for a Kent State student in the summer of 2016.
