Kent State has won the Mid-American Conference's Faculty Athletics Representative Academic Achievement Award

Kent State has won the Mid-American Conference's Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) Academic Achievement Award for men's sports for the first time in school history.

Mid-American Conference Institutional Academic Achievement Award

For the first time in school history, Kent State University has received the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Institutional Academic Achievement Award. The Golden Flashes earned a department-wide grade-point average (GPA) of 3.447 for the 2020-21 academic year.

Kent State University Athletics has announced all sports facilities, including Dix Stadium, the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center) and Murphy-Mellis Field, will be at full capacity for the fall 2021 sport season.

Richmond currently serves as senior associate athletic director at Old Dominion University.

Kent State University today is launching a national search for the university’s next leader of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. A 12-member search committee led by Lamar R. Hylton, Ph.D., vice president for student affairs, has been appointed to recruit and screen highly qualified candidates for the director of athletics position.

After more than a decade of service, Joel Nielsen, Kent State University’s director of athletics, plans to seek new challenges when his contract with the university ends later this year.
