Shampa Banerjee Joins Kent State College of Business Administration National Advisory Board

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State University College of Business Administration’s National Advisory Board welcomes Shampa Banerjee, Kent State Ph.D. graduate and chief product officer of Eros Digital at Eros International. Banerjee holds a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from Kent State University and master’s degrees in physics from Case Western Reserve University and the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.

 

Banerjee is a senior executive and global technology leader with success in driving innovation and growth in companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 Companies.

With global experience and background in digital media, consumer products and large-scale SaaS platforms, she has built and directed technology and product teams of 200-plus staff. She has extensive background in both strategy and execution, making her a strong leader in product and technology strategies.

 

Since 2014, Banerjee has served as the Chief Product Officer of Eros Digital at Eros International, the Netflix for Bollywood. Leading a globally distributed organization, she has grown the service from inception to 150 million global subscribers in 135 countries. She also is currently a Board Member for the Association for Corporate Growth Silicon and a mentor at NASDAQ Entrepreneurial Center.

 

Prior to Eros Digital, Banerjee turned around the social collaboration platform Socialtext, the first company to deliver social software to businesses, driving growth by 40% and collaborating with the CEO to a successful sale to the $1.4 billion tech fund Bedford Funding. She also was CTO of Ziff Davis Media, where she launched the first ever social network for video gamers, and at AOL she owned/managed technology and products for AOLs top three traffic- and revenue-generating channels.

 

The Kent State College of Business Administration’s National Advisory Board is comprised of prominent College of Business Administration alumni and corporate partners throughout the United States. The board provides an external point of view and resources to connect with important constituencies for expertise, financial support and information.
