ACADEMIC ADVISING

UNDERGRADUATE

Note: In light of the university's response to COVID-19, advisors will be unavailable for in-person meetings.

MAKE AN UNDERGRADUATE ADVISING APPOINTMENT

For general questions, you can call 330-672-2872 Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

Remote drop-in advising is available Monday-Wednesdays, 1 - 3:45 p.m. Call 330-672-2872 to sign-in during these times. Drop-in Advising hours are meant for questions that can be addressed in a 10-15 minute time frame (e.g. current term concerns or course recommendations for next term). To speak longer with an advisor, schedule a 30 minute appointment using the link provided above.  

Drop in hours are canceled on Wednesday, November 11 due to the University’s observance of Veteran’s day. 

Additional drop-in advising dates are scheduled for the following dates from 1-3:45 p.m. by calling 330-672-2872 to assist with fall 2020 concerns and spring 2021 registration.

If you need registration assistance, please email qqa@kent.edu from your Kent State email account with the following information:

  • Your Kent State ID number or Kent State email address

The keys to a successful career in business are mentors and advisors. The College of Business Administration's team of advisors will do everything from helping you determine a major to directing you to College resources for employment and scholarship opportunities. You are required to meet with advisors once per semester. 

Complete the Pre-Advising Packet each semester and bring it with you to every required advising appointment.

INTERNATIONAL ADVISING

International students have a special advisory staff located in the International Programs Office that recognizes the intricacy of getting a degree in another country. You’re required to meet with advisors once per semester. Additional meetings are recommended to keep your collegiate career on track.

International advising is located in 300E BSA. Senior walk-ins are held Wednesdays from 1 - 4 p.m. 

Quick question advising is held Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. - noon.

MENTORS AIDING IN PEER SUCCESS (MAPS)

Mentors Aiding in Peer Success, also called MAPS, blue and yellow logo.Mentors Aiding in Peer Success (MAPS) is a program that provides peer mentoring for students in the College of Business Administration. Mentors meet one on one with mentees to assist with the successful transition to college, academic challenges, opportunities on campus, and personal exploration.

The College of Business Administration has three computer labs for students looking to spend time on class projects and take online exams.
