Pratim Datta (Ph.D.) is a two-time Farris Family Research Innovation Award recipient and an Associate Professor of IS and Supply Chains at Kent State University. Based on AIS (Association of Information Systems) rankings of scholars publishing in the top-six MIS journals, he is ranked among the top 100 researchers internationally.
Datta has over 50 journal articles and conference proceedings with multiple best paper nominations and awards. He has published in the Information Systems Journal (ISJ), Journal of Information Technology (JIT), European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS), Journal of Knowledge Management (JKM), Journal of Supply chain Management (JSCM), Communications of the ACM (CACM), among others. Dr. Datta has previously won the Paul Pfeiffer Professional and Teaching Award, the Outstanding MBA Professor Award.
Datta teaches the in the Ph.D., MBA and Corporate and Healthcare Executive MBA (EMBA) programs in the Graduate School of Management. Prior to joining academia, Datta worked as a senior project manager and corporate strategy consultant for IBM Global Services, SAP and Price Waterhouse Coopers.
He has served as a speaker at the Timken Co's YPR roundtable on Business Analytics at Timken. He has been a speaker on Project Management Strategy and Analytics for the PMI (Project Management Institute) and PNC Bank.
With multiple sole-inventions and patent applications, Dr. Datta enjoys designing solutions. He and his E-Voting process invention was featured on FOX8 news in April-May 2013. He is also an avid photographer.
