Have taught at Kent State, Akron University, and Mount Union College in Sociology, Criminal Justice areas. The Mount Union experience was the most continuous 1979-1997.

Other Employment

Worked in public sector (Department of Human Services for Summit County -1967-1985). Started as a caseworker, occupied management positions during my tenure. Left there to become Executive Director, later retitled CEO, of Mobile Meals Inc- Akron based. The agency expanded to cover five NE Ohio counties. We grew to 80 employees, extensive volunteer staff, an $8M budget and Accreditation by the Joint Commission for Health Care (national). My tenure was 1986-2012.

Civic Engagement

Extensive and many different experiences. Have served on boards, commissions and projects at all levels of government – local, state and national. Primary focus has been public policy, research, lobbying, program design and system change. Have been active in Ohio Kiwanis leadership, served on the Portage County Citizens Jail Committee (1989-90- as regards the current Jail); Kent and Ohio League of Women Voters, Chapter Director and Corporation Board President for my sorority -Alpha Xi Delta.  As an undergrad, it all started with service as President of Verder Hall and as a freshman-University Student Council! As a senior I was a Residence Counselor in Moulton Hall.
