STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS & ACTIVITIES

Your college experience will be unlike any other, unique to the aspirations and motivations that make you who you are. The wealth of choices within Kent State University is as varied and intriguing as the students themselves.

It is important to get involved on campus and customize your own version of the Kent State experience.

The Center for Student Involvement offers hundreds of resources and opportunities for leadership, student engagement, connections and transitions.

Choose from more than 400 student organizations.

Do you love ceramics or psychology? Are you a College Republican or College Democrat, ice hockey goalie or lacrosse player?  Student organizations create a community within a community for a very personal Kent State experience.

Give something back to your community.

A top university gives back to its community. The Office of Experiential Education and Civic Engagement offers Kent State students the opportunity to continue the university’s tradition of “giving back” while developing leadership potential and the understanding that individuals can indeed make a difference in their communities.

Get fit. Have fun.

The Student Recreation & Wellness Center (SRWC), together with other fitness and sports facilities located on campus, makes staying healthy easy and convenient. These facilities offer swimming pools, circuit training equipment, weight rooms, a climbing wall, an indoor track field, an ice arena and much more.

Cheer on an athletic team. Take in a show.

When you compare Ohio’s best colleges, take location into account. Kent State’s proximity to major metropolitan areas (Cleveland, Akron, Canton and Youngstown) puts students within reach of world-class dining, museums and professional sports. By virtue of living on campus, additional arts, music, and theatre events and activities are available right in your own backyard.
