A Message From the Dean

Dear alumni and friends,

Earlier this month, we held the seventh annual Spirit of Women in Business Conference. The event was once again a great success, with more than 250 professional women and men in attendance and a dynamic lineup of speakers and panelists featured throughout the day.

Rita McGrath, Ph.D., professor at Columbia University's Business School and one of the world's leading experts on strategy and innovation, delivered a thought-provoking keynote on the topic of innovation to kick off the event.

We were also pleased to honor Kent State alumnus and College of Business Administration National Advisory Board member Renée DeLuca Dolan with the 2017 Spirit of Women in Business Award at the Conference. Renée, founder and president of Contempo Communications and publisher of Cleveland Business Connects (CBC) Magazine, serves as an inspiring role model. Not only does she devote countless hours and energy to her company and the Northeast Ohio business community, Renée also makes it a priority to give back to non-profits in the region.

We enjoyed celebrating the accomplishments of female business leaders and entrepreneurs and paying tribute to those who have paid it forward by sharing their success with others.

Sincerely,

Deborah F. Spake's signature, the Dean of the College of Business Administration at Kent State University located near Cleveland, Ohio.
