2026 National Survey of Student Engagement
Kent State University will participate in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE, pronounced "Nessie") in spring 2026. On March 2, eligible students will receive communications encouraging them to take advantage of this opportunity to shape the future at Kent State University:
- Kent Campus: Senior and first-year bachelor degree-seeking students will be invited to participate in the National Survey of Student Engagement.
- Regional Campuses: All degree-seeking undergraduates will be invited to participate in NSSE Shorts.
These surveys assess key aspects of your undergraduate experience, including engagement in educational practices shown to be linked with learning and student success. The results are a primary consideration for improving student life both inside and outside the classroom. The survey should take less than 15 minutes to complete. The survey closes May 11.

To encourage students to complete the survey, those who complete by April 15, 2026 will be automatically entered into a drawing for prizes, gift cards and more. The prizes and probability of winning are listed below:
Kent Campus
In appreciation for participating, students who complete the survey by April 15 will be automatically entered in a random drawing to win 1 of 15 Apple AirTags ($30), 1 of 10 FlashCash cards (worth $40), or 1 of 5 Kent State sweatshirts (worth $45). Your chances of winning depend on how many complete the survey; the last time we administered this survey about 1,569 students responded.
Regional Campuses
In appreciation for participating, students who complete the survey by April 15 will be automatically entered in a random drawing to win 1 of 18 $50 gas station cards, 1 of 2 Roku Express 4K (worth $40), or 1 of 7 $25 Barnes and Noble gift cards. Your chances of winning depend on how many complete the survey; the survey is being administered to 4,639 students.
