Dr. Sarah Labovitz

Diane Petrella, dean of the College of the Arts is pleased to announce that Dr. Sarah Labovitz has been appointed to Director of the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music effective July 1, 2023.

After a national search, the Glauser School of Music and the College of the Arts at Kent State University announce the appointment of Benjamin Lorenzo, D.M.A., as the next director of bands.

The Kent State University School of Music returns to Severance Music Center on Monday, May 2, at 7 p.m. featuring nearly 300 students from across the university performing a rich lineup of genres and styles from classical and jazz to gospel and world music. It will also feature collaborations with the School of Theatre and Dance and the Wick Poetry Center.

Kent Wind Ensemble in Mandel Concert Hall at Severance Music Center

On Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, the Kent State Wind Ensemble traveled to Cleveland’s Severance Music Center as a featured ensemble of the Northeast Ohio Band Invitational (NEOBI).
