The College of Communication and Information at Kent State University is pleased to announce a gift of $10,000 from Brokaw, an independent, global marketing, advertising and design agency headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. CEO Gregg Brokaw has given the gift in support of the School of Visual Communication Design's Taylor Hall Gallery Exhibitions and Lecture Series.

Toastmasters three-time world champion of public speaking and Kent State University alumnus Rich Breiner, Ph.D., ’80, visited campus recently for the first time since graduation nearly 40 years ago.

School of Communication Studies (COMM) marketing assistant Mikala Lugen sat down with Breiner to talk about his college experience, his successful public speaking career and his tips for leading a happy and prosperous life.

Four Kent State University alumni were honored on Friday, Sept. 22, at the School of Communication Studies Alumni Awards & Reception in Taylor Hall. The event was part of the College of Communication and Information's celebration of Taylor Hall's reopening, Sept. 21 - 23, 2017.

Three distinct awards are given at the annual celebration:

After a year of renovations, Taylor Hall will reopen for classes on Monday, Aug. 28. The Schools of Communication Studies (COMM) and Visual Communication Design (VCD) share the space in the modernized, four-floor building. The May 4 Visitors Center also calls Taylor Hall home and will reopen with normal hours on Sept. 5.
