Transitioning to Kent

We’re excited that you have decided to continue your education at Kent State University by transitioning to the Kent Campus to complete your degree!

The steps listed below will help you walk through your next steps to have the smoothest transition possible.  Please note that no additional application is required to transition to the Kent Campus as a Regional Campus student.

After you move through the identified steps, take the opportunity to review other resources and opportunities you can take advantage of on your new campus.

Quick Reference Checklist

1. Meet with an academic advisor at Kent State Trumbull

Meeting with a Trumbull advisor will assure that you meet the requirements to transition to the Kent Campus. These requirements are:

  • Successful completion of all developmental coursework
  • Successful completion of 12 credit hours of college-level coursework
  • A minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA
2. Meet with an academic advisor at the Kent Campus

Once your Trumbull advisor confirms that you’ve met the transition requirements, you should meet with an advisor in your specific college at the Kent Campus to review your classes for the upcoming semester.

  • The best way to schedule an advising appointment is through KSUAdvising, which can be accessed through this link: https://advising.kent.edu/login
  • If you’re unsure which college your major is in, please do not hesitate to ask your Trumbull advisor.
3. Schedule a Kent Campus tour

The Kent Campus is much larger than Trumbull, and scheduling a tour is a great way to feel at ease while making the transition to a larger campus.
