Kent State University Office of the University Architect is requesting proposals from firms for the following projects:

Request for Qualifications of Design-Build firms for
East Main Street Parking Deck Project No. KSU-18L110
Kent State University, Kent Campus, Kent, Ohio in Portage County

Total Project Cost:  $29,000,000.00
Construction Cost:  $24,820,000.00
EDGE Participation Goal:  9% of DB's total compensation excluding DB's Contingency

Relevant Scope of Work Requirements:
1. State of Ohio Design Build Delivery Method
2. Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) – Parksmart Certifications
3. Structured Parking Design and Construction (Specifically Post-tensioned Concrete)
4. Construction Site Management with limited staging and close proximity to adjacent occupied structures.
5. Experience with previous Kent State projects including OAKS-CI.
6. Landscape and Civil Design within higher education or campus context.
7. Accelerated Project Schedule Management
8. Project and Construction Budget Management
9. Partnering and Collaboration with separate Construction Teams for immediately adjacent projects being managed by the University/Owner.

Kent State University, Kent Campus, Kent, Ohio in Portage County

Total Project Cost:  $4,200,000.00
Construction Cost of Work:  $3,520,000.00
EDGE Participation Goal:  5% of DB's total compensation excluding DB's Contingency

Relevant Scope of Work Requirements:
1. Experience with design and construction of facilities through the Design-Build delivery method.
2. Experience with compressed construction time allowances.
3. Experience with renovations in Higher Education Residence Halls.
4. Experience within and around occupied buildings.
5. Experience with window replacements.
6. Experience using the OAKS capital improvement management system.
7. Experience with Hazardous Materials abatement and environmental monitoring.
8. Experience with the procurement of long lead items.
