Meet the Advising Team

The role of an academic advisor is to:

• Support you by listening and learning about you
• Engage with you to develop your educational plan and monitor your progress to graduation
• Provide you with the knowledge and skills to utilize available academic and advising tools
• Interpret University and College policies and procedures
• Provide referrals to other University and community resources
• Challenge you to consider opportunities to help you grow and develop

The role of a student advisee is to:

• Take an active role in your educational plan and path to graduation
• Communicate honestly with your advisor about your plans, goals, and needs
• Utilize your advising tools to understand major and graduation requirements
• Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled appointments to build successful habits needed for life beyond college 

How to connect with an academic advisor: 

• Utilize one of our advising services to meet with any of the advisors in the college 
• Email your assigned academic advisor from your Kent State University email.  Be specific about your question or circumstances so we can address your need. To locate your assigned academic advisor, log into Flashline and navigate to Student > Dashboard. Your assigned academic advisor will be located under the “My Advisors” section of your Profile.
