Alternative to flying direct to Florence: Fly into Rome Fiumicino Airport and utilize the train into and out of Florence

- more cost-effective airfare
- domestic connecting flights as opposed to foreign connections
- simple, cost-effective train connections
- eliminates the 35-40 minute taxi from the Florence airport to Florence City Center
- allows time for site seeing and tours in both Rome and Florence
