These awards are available to graduates in the Class of 2019. Awards are selected by members of the faculty, staff and administration of the College. Awards are announced at graduation rehearsal. 

 

1st in the Class: For the fourth-year student who has demonstrated the highest level of academic achievement in his/her class.

The Ilya Bratslavsky Doctor Award: For the fourth-year student who has shown kindness and compassion towards other students and members of the CPM community.

Sean Glennon Award: 
The award was created in honor of Sean Glennon, a student who passed away in 2018. Sean was a loving father and dedicated student who had an unmatched passion for the profession of podiatric medicine. Please nominate a student in the Class of 2019 who may have had a non-traditional route to beginning their career as a medical student; a student who is a devoted to his or her family and embodies a passion for this profession.

Dr. Karen Ondrick Biomedical Sciences Excellence Award: For the fourth-year student who has demonstrated the highest level of proficiency in the area of pre-clinical sciences.  Criteria: 1. GPA 2. Leadership in pre-clinical sciences

Professional Ethics Award: For the fourth-year student who has demonstrated consistent ethical principles of empathy, compassion, and high moral character.  Criteria: Subjective to faculty nominations.

Clinical Podiatry Award: For the fourth-year student who has demonstrated outstanding proficiency in clinical podiatry throughout his/her professional program. Criteria:  Subjective to faculty nominations.

Diabetic Lower Extremity Care Award: For the fourth-year student with an above average grade point average who exhibits a demonstrated interest in diabetic lower extremity care.  Criteria: 1. Documented scholarly activity pertaining to the diabetic foot.  2.  GPA

Surgical Excellence Award: For the fourth-year student demonstrating clinical proficiency and excellence in surgical skills.  Criteria:  1. Publication/Research support in surgery.  2.  GPA in surgery courses.

Dr. Allan M. Spencer Orthotics / Biomechanics Award: For the fourth-year student who has demonstrated outstanding proficiency in the selection and application of orthotics and biomechanical assessment.   Criteria:  1.  Publication / Research support in biomechanics   2.  GPA in biomechanics courses

Dr. William F. Munsey Leadership Award
For the fourth year student who has exemplified outstanding leadership as a student at KSUCPM within the profession or at the state/national professional association levels and has demonstrated excellence in both academic and clinical skills.

For the outstanding fourth year student who has promoted podiatry in the community through extra-curricular activities.

The William F. Todd, DPM Award for Excellence in General Medicine
For the fourth year student who has demonstrated academic excellence in third year General Medicine.

Timothy Holbrook Memorial Award for Excellence in Orthopedics
For the fourth year student who has demonstrated academic and clinical excellence in orthopedics, as well as displaying qualities that will help them to become a good practitioner.

The American Board of Podiatric Medicine Graduate Merit Award
For the fourth year student who exhibits high standards of professional conduct, probity, academic achievement
and moral rectitude such as, no tardiness in clinic, all assignments turned in on time, no negative write ups, and a GPA of no less than 3.5. The 4th year student should exhibit aptitude in Podiatric Medicine and Podiatric Orthopedics which includes but is not limited to Dermatology, Biomechanics, Sports Medicine, Infectious Disease and Wound Care.
