Windy Cole Receives Silver Award for Innovations Technology Driven Research

The College of Podiatric Medicine (CPM) would like to congratulate Windy Cole, DPM, CWSP, on her recent receipt of a Silver Award for Innovations in Technology Driven Research! Dr. Cole was honored with the award during the recently held Journal of Wound Care World Union of Wound Healing Societies (JWC WUWHS) award ceremony.

Regarded as ‘The Olympics of Wound Care’, the JWC WUWHS Awards celebrates the finest achievements in wound care over a four-year span. This year, the celebration returned to deliver some of the most prestigious awards in the wound care community for work done following the previous award ceremony, held in Florence, 2016. In total, the international celebration presents awards for fifteen categories, covering the latest innovations in research and practice worldwide. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a physical awards ceremony was unfortunately not possible this year. In its place, a virtual awards week was held from February 21st – 26th, with each evening including honoree interviews, and educational webinars for attendees.

Dr. Cole’s Silver Award in Innovations in Technology Driven Research was granted for her ongoing work with CPM and its Cleveland Foot & Ankle Clinic, where she serves as an Adjunct Professor. The award, sponsored by Sanuwave, is open to those who conduct research with innovative technologies and lead to advances in wound care and improved patient outcomes. CPM is incredibly proud of Dr. Cole’s recent accolade, and to have her at the College influencing tomorrow’s podiatrists and healing the Cleveland community every day!
