Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship Welcomes Investments Expert Lei Jiang, Ph.D. to Department of Finance

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship welcomes Lei Jiang, Ph.D. as Professor of Finance beginning Fall 2023.

Jiang previously served as associate professor of finance in the Finance Department in the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University where he taught courses on Introduction to Fintech and Empirical Asset Pricing. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Emory University.

Jiang’s research interests include Empirical Asset Pricing, Investment, Empirical Household Finance, Fintech and Real Estate Finance. Specifically, he focuses on mutual funds, stocks, real estate market and cryptocurrencies, using financial econometrics, textual analysis and other methods to explain and predict key characteristics of these assets (e.g., expected returns and liquidity). He has published 20 papers and his publications appear in top-tier journals including Management Science, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Econometrics, Review of Finance, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics.

Jiang has won numerous best paper awards internationally, including the Xia Yihong Best Paper Award at the 2015 China International Conference in Finance.
