The Kent State University Board of Trustees has approved a new three-year Collective Bargaining Agreement between the university and the Kent State University Employees Local 153, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).   The university and AFSCME will now execute a Collective Bargaining Agreement that is retroactive to Oct. 1, 2019, and will run through Sept. 30, 2022. Lee, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Geography at Kent State, began researching how weather types have changed over a 40-year period. The Kent City Health Department has notified 57 residents of Fletcher Hall, fourth floor, on Kent State University’s Kent Campus that they must quarantine until Oct. 20 due to possible exposure to the communicable disease COVID-19. Only students who live in Fletcher Hall will be permitted to enter during this quarantine period. The 57 students will remain in a separate section of Fletcher Hall. Meals will be provided along with other university resources through the quarantine period. Anyone testing positive has been moved to isolation. Kent State University’s David Costello, Ph.D., is passionate about identifying what trace metals lie within Northeast Ohio’s streams and what the effects of these metals are on the surrounding environment.
