Local students join non-profit to help families affected by cancer

At 11.a.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 27, Niles-McKinley High School students and local non-profit, Rock4Reason, will make a $1,600 donation to the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center, located at 1044 Belmont Ave, Youngstown, OH 44504.

"These students are amazing," said Frank Lindsay. Lindsay, Manager, Information Technology at Kent State University at Trumbull and co-founder of Rock4Reason. "We are really happy they can join us and see first-hand how they are making a difference."

The students are all members of the school's National Honor Society. They raised close to $800 throughout October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Rock4Reason matched the amount.

Rock4Reason is a local non-profit that is dedicated to providing financial and therapeutic support through the power of music to families impacted by cancer and to community agencies providing care for cancer and/or terminally ill patients.
