Developing a NETWORK

Network piece of career pie chart

Networking is an important aspect of your career development.  Establishing connections and building relationships helps you learn about career pathways, understand industry trends, and identify opportunities.  Strong communication and conversation skills will help you be an effective networker.  Following up with people after networking events is critical to growing your networking relationship.  Everyone you meet has the potential to be in your network, so keep your eyes and ear open!  Networking can also be done online, so having a professional digital footprint will help you succeed as well.
