Accounting Scholarships
To apply for the accounting scholarships listed below, please complete the accounting scholarship application. You only need to fill out the application once to apply for all accounting scholarships listed below unless otherwise indicated.
APPLY FOR ACCOUNTING SCHOLARSHIPS
L.A. "Newt" Baker Accounting Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to accounting majors with junior class standing who are pursuing a career in public accounting. Financial need considered. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Scholarship can be applied to tuition, fees, supplies.
Boyd-Conway Memorial Endowment
This scholarship is awarded based on merit.
Lewandowski & Company Scholarship
Norbert J. “Nobby” Lewandowski received the first baseball scholarship at Kent State. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Kent State and a Master’s from Case Western Reserve University. Nobby passed the CPA exam in 1964. In 1970, he founded an accounting firm and ultimately led the firm to place among the “Top 25 Largest Accounting Firms in Ohio.” Nobby sold his firm to his senior employees in 1992. In 2008, the 100th anniversary of the OSCPA, he was named one of “Ohio’s Most Influential CPAs.” He now devotes his time to motivational speaking, outside business ventures and as an advisor to many businesses.
Clark Endowed Accounting Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to accounting majors with high academic achievement and leadership activities.
Richard E. and Beverly A. Brown Endowed Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Richard E. Brown, who was the chair of the Accounting Department from 2000 to 2008. He taught at Kent State for many years prior to becoming department chair. He is missed deeply. This scholarship was established to honor his memory.
James R. Fako Memorial Endowment
This scholarship is awarded to accounting majors based on financial need and scholastic ability.
Richard & Maude Ferry Accounting Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a first-generation college student based upon merit.
Harold Jenkins Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to accounting majors based on scholastic ability, student organization involvement and other criteria.
J. Edward Mullin Memorial Endowment in Accounting
This scholarship is awarded to an accounting major who has excelled in a taxation course and plans to pursue taxation as a career interest. This award is based on scholastic ability.
Warfield and Company Accounting Scholarship
Scholarship to be awarded to students with at least a 3.0 GPA and demonstrating financial need.
Jean Walford Memorial Endowment
This scholarship is awarded to an accounting major based on scholastic ability, student organization involvement and other criteria.
The Kenneth Niemann scholarship
For this scholarship, you must be pursuing a career in either the finance or accounting industry. You also must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA.
William Duane Huff III Scholarship
Scholarship recipients must be a junior or senior accounting, marketing or entrepreneurship major with a minimum 3.0 GPA; preference will be given to those with financial need.
Accounting Excellence Awards
Each year, the Accounting Department distributes a number of these awards to recognize the achievement of our accounting majors. The number of awards and the amount of the awards vary each year based on contributions.
Financial Executive Institute Award
No application is required for this award. The department will select an outstanding finance or accounting student looking for a career as a financial executive.

Economics Scholarships
You only need to fill out the application once to apply for the economics scholarships listed below; however, some scholarships may require a separate application as noted below.

Economics Department Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a junior or senior Economics major with a minimum 2.75 GPA with financial need verified by the FAFSA. Selection will also be based on a faculty recommendation and GPA.
Albert W. Erickson III and Cathy S. Erickson Scholarship in Economics
This scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student enrolled in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship who is a declared Economics major or a graduate student who is pursuing a graduate degree in Economics. Preference will be given to international students studying at the Kent campus.
Brian Kent Memorial Scholarship
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a declared economics major having completed at least 45 credit hours and have a minimum GPA of 3.00.
The Kopsak Family Economics Scholarship
Scholarship recipients shall be selected on the basis of: a full time student in the COBA who is a declared Economics major. Recipients will be selected by the scholarship committee at the discretion of the Department of Economics.
John B. Planchard Endowment for the College of Business Administration
Awarded to a declared Economics or Finance major with a minimum 3.00 GPA; student must demonstrate financial need through a FAFSA; preference given to first-generation college students.
Dr. Harold R. & Dorothy Williams Economics Award
This renewable tuition and book scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate economics major in his/her junior or senior year who is in good academic standing and has financial need.
Alois L. Zaremba, Ph.D. Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to an Ambassador Crawford College Junior or Senior with an Economics major or minor who has a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need and who come from an urban area. Students may reapply for this scholarship.

Finance Scholarships
You only need to fill out the application once to apply for the finance scholarships listed below; however, some scholarships may require a separate application as noted below.

Professor Allan Twark endowment
Scholarship recipient must be a junior Finance major in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship and intend to pursue a career in the finance field; minimum cumulative GPA 3.00; demonstrated financial need will be considered but is not mandatory.
Cleveland Chapter Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters (CPCU)
This scholarship supports a full-time Kent State University student enrolled in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship or in the Insurance Studies program in their junior or senior year of study. Preference will be given to students who have completed an internship in the Insurance field. Applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00 or greater and demonstrate financial need. Preference shall be given to applicants from Northeast Ohio.
Financial Executive Institute Award

Awarded to a declared Economics or Finance major with a minimum 3.00 GPA; student must demonstrate financial need through a FAFSA; preference given to first-generation college students.
The Kenneth Niemann Scholarship
For this scholarship, you must be pursuing a career in either the finance or accounting industry. You also must have a minimum 3.00 overall GPA.
National Interstate Insurance Leadership Scholarship
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be enrolled full-time at any Kent State campus a sophomore, junior or senior class standing or a postgraduate student returning to pursue an undergraduate business degree or a Bachelor of Science degree in Insurance Studies. You also must have a minimum 3.00 GPA. A preference will be given to you if you are involved with campus or community leadership activities.
Pentella Family Scholarship in Finance
This scholarship will support a full time undergraduate Finance major with a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA who has financial need as demonstrated by a FAFSA. Preference is given to students attending the Kent campus.
James M. and Kelly J. Bailey Scholarship
Recipient must be a full-time Finance major in his/her junior or senior year of study and preferably minoring in a STEM program; minimum 3.00 cum GPA. Preference will be given to students who are currently or have previously participated in the KSU Student Ambassador Program, and are from Mahoning County.

Management and Information Systems (MIS) Scholarships
For all scholarships that require the Universal Scholarship Application to apply, you only need to fill out the application once to apply for all management and information systems scholarships; however, some scholarships may require a separate application as noted below.

The Krista Gesaman And Roger Bryan Scholarship
This scholarship will support a full time Marketing or Computer Information Systems major with a minimum 3.00 GPA.
Business Management
The Murray Conerby Memorial Endowed Scholarship
The recipient must be a full time student with demonstrated financial need as determined by FAFSA studying either Business Management or Entrepreneurship in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship.
Angelo and Joyce Kinicki Scholarship
You may be eligible for this one-time scholarship if you are an Ohio resident with financial need. Additional requirements include a being a full-time, undergraduate senior majoring in management with a minimum 3.30 overall GPA.
Thomas Kelty Memorial Apics Scholarship
In order to be eligible for this award, you must be a junior business management major with financial need and academic achievements.

Marketing and Entrepreneurship Scholarships
You only need to fill out the application once to apply for the marketing and entrepreneurship scholarships listed below; however, some scholarships may require a separate application, as noted below.

William Duane Huff, III Scholarship
Scholarship recipients must be a junior or senior accounting, marketing or entrepreneurship major with a minimum 3.00 GPA; preference will be given to those with financial need.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
The Murray Conerby Memorial Endowed Scholarship
The recipient must be a full-time student with demonstrated financial need as determined by FAFSA studying either Business Management or Entrepreneurship in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship.
DONALD S. GRANT TRAVEL AWARD AND SCHOLARSHIP
If you are an entrepreneurship major or minor, you may qualify for this award. You must also have a minimum overall GPA of 2.50. The award is split between tuition and travel expenses to interact with entrepreneurs. The scholarship recipient will work with the CEBI director for approval of travel.
THE JAMES & PHYLLIS DIFIORE ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP
For this scholarship, you must be a junior or senior with a preference given to an entrepreneurship major with at least a 2.50 GPA and financial need determined by completion of the FAFSA.
Link Keehfus, Jr. Memorial Scholarship in Entrepreneurship
This scholarship requires that you be an entrepreneurship major or minor of at least junior class standing (minimum 60 hours) with at least a 3.00 overall GPA. Other considerations include: you must be a U.S. citizen, an Ohio resident, demonstrate financial need and be willing to mentor a high school student.
RAY'S PLACE SCHOLARSHIP
You will receive first priority for this scholarship if you are an entrepreneurship major and second priority if you are a marketing major. For this scholarship, you must be a full-time junior or senior with financial need, work a minimum of 15 hours a week and have at least a 2.60 cumulative GPA.
TIM EIPPERT SCHOLARSHIP FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP
You are eligible for this scholarship if you are an entrepreneurship major and have completed at least 30 credit hours prior to the beginning of the fall semester.
TIM EIPPERT SECOND ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP
You are eligible for this scholarship if you are an entrepreneurship major and have completed at least 30 credit hours prior to the beginning of the fall semester. Funds will be applied to your tuition and fees.
MARKETING
AMERICAN ADVERTISING FEDERATION OF AKRON SCHOLARSHIP
To be qualified for this scholarship, you must be a full-time student majoring in marketing in your junior or senior year of study. You must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and a GPA of 3.0 in your major course of study.
CLEVELAND CHAPTER CHARTERED PROPERTY AND CASUALTY UNDERWRITERS (CPCU)
You are eligible for this award if you are a junior or senior full-time student enrolled in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship or the Insurance Studies program. You must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00 or greater and demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to you if you have completed an internship in the insurance field and if you are from Northeast Ohio.
GARY M. GALE ASSOCIATES, INC. MARKETING SCHOLARSHIP
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a marketing major of junior or senior class standing with a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA. Priority will be given if you have demonstrated leadership and service to Kent State and the surrounding community.
MICKEY DOVER SCHOLARSHIP
If you are a marketing major with an interest in organizational communications and/or public relations, you may be eligible to apply for this scholarship. You need to have at least 30 hours completed by the start of the fall semester and a minimum 3.00 GPA.
THE NANCY MARTIN BECKWITH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is for you if you are a marketing major with at least a 3.00 overall GPA and have completed at least 30 credit hours by the start of the fall semester. You must also demonstrate leadership and community service. Priority will be given if you are female.
RAY'S PLACE SCHOLARSHIP
You will receive first priority for this scholarship if you are an entrepreneurship major and second priority if you are a marketing major. For this scholarship, you must be a full-time junior or senior with financial need, work a minimum of 15 hours a week and have at least a 2.60 cumulative GPA.
THE KRISTA GESAMAN AND ROGER BRYAN SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will support a full-time Marketing or Computer Information Systems major with a minimum 3.00 GPA.
RICHARD and COLLEEN VIGNOS ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP in Managerial Marketing
This tuition-only award is given to a junior or senior majoring in Managerial Marketing in the College of Business Administration with a minimum GPA of 3.50 in their major. Preference is for students that have financial need.
