Kent State Geauga and Twinsburg Academic Center Donor Funded Scholarships

Kent State Geauga and Twinsburg Academic Center offer many donor-funded scholarships as listed below. Criteria for each scholarship is listed under each titled scholarship. To apply for scholarships, please visit the Scholarships page and complete the application. 

Bates Family Scholarship

  • Graduate of a Geauga County high school (with preference given to graduates from Berkshire High School)
  • Preference will be given to students who are participating in the Rising Scholars program at Kent State University Geauga
  • Enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours
  • FAFSA on file
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 G.P.A. for high school or college
  • Deadline May 15

Berkshire Promise Scholarship

  • Current graduate of Berkshire High School, not prior to 2018
  • Enrolled at Kent State University Geauga
  • Minimum cumulative 2.0 G.P.A.
  • Deadline May 15

Dee Dee Miller Bachelor of Science in Nursing Endowed Scholarship

  • Enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program at Kent State Geauga
  • 3.5 GPA minimum
  • Junior or Senior status
  • Preference is given to students who currently work at OR who have a family member currently employed at or retired from University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center
  • If no student is connected to University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center Geauga, preference is then given to a student living in Geauga County, enrolled at Kent State Geauga

Geauga Growth Partnership, Inc. Scholarship

  • Enrolled at Kent State University Geauga Campus
  • Preference is given to an employee or the child of an employee of any GGP member business
  • 2.75 GPA in high school or college
  • Deadline May 15

George McCollum Memorial Scholarship for Esports

  • Completing a minimum of 12 credit hours
  • 2.8 GPA minimum
  • Must be part of the Esports Club
  • Preference is given to Esports students who are a part of a pool/billiards league

Jay and Sue Giles Scholarship for the Study of Economics

  • Enrolled at Kent State University Geauga Campus
  • Enrolled in an economics course
  • Minimum cumulative 2.5 G.P.A
  • FAFSA on file

Kent State University Geauga and Twinsburg Academic Center Advisory Board Scholarship

  • Enrolled at Kent State University Geauga and/or Twinsburg Academic Center
  • Preference is given to participants in the Rising Scholars Program
  • Previously completed at least 12 credit hours
  • FAFSA on file
  • Minimum cumulative 2.5 G.P.A.
  • Deadline May 15

Access Scholarship

  • Incoming new freshman
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 high school G.P.A.
  • Geauga County resident
  • Enrolled in 12 or more credit hours each semester
  • Deadline May 15

Campus Scholarship (Current Students)

  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 G.P.A.
  • Registered for six or more credit hours for each semester
  • Must have attended Kent State Geauga or the Twinsburg Academic Center for one full semester
  • Two references with at least one being a faculty member
  • FAFSA on file
  • Deadline May 15

Campus Scholarship (Incoming New Freshmen)

  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 high school G.P.A.
  • Registered for six or more credit hours each semester
  • Two references with at least one being a high school faculty member
  • FAFSA on file

William T. & Margaret R. Clark Scholarship for the Geauga Campus

  • Geauga County resident
  • Sophomore status or above
  • Minimum cumulative 2.5 G.P.A.
  • Preference is given to Education, Health Care, Business, or Humanities majors
  • Must submit a 300-word on career aspirations
  • Two letters of recommendation which support the applicant's career intent, academic achievement, and community engagement
  • Deadline May 15

Covia Endowed Scholarship

  • Geauga County resident
  • Minimum of 12 credit hours completed
  • Enrolled in at least six credit hours at Kent State Geauga
  • Minimum cumulative 2.5 G.P.A.
  • Deadline May 15

Faculty Scholarship

  • Minimum cumulative of 2.70 G.P.A.
  • One letter of recommendation from a faculty member
  • 500-word (maximum) personal statement (optional) 
  • Deadline May 15

Geauga County Township Association Endowed Scholarship

  • Geauga County resident
  • Attending Kent State Geauga and/or Twinsburg Academic Center
  • Completed 12 or more credit hours
  • Minimum cumulative 2.5 G.P.A.
  • 500-word essay
  • Deadline May 15

Giardina-Lindeman Endowed Scholarship

  • Registered for a full-time (12 or more credit hours) schedule at Kent State Geauga
  • Seeking an associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management, or Technical and Applied Studies
  • Minimum cumulative 2.5 G.P.A.
  • Deadline May 15

Loretta Mae Hausmann Holmes Endowed Scholarship in Middle Childhood Education

  • Middle Childhood Education major predominantly enrolled at Kent State Geauga
  • Sophomore, junior or senior standing
  • Minimum cumulative 2.5 G.P.A.
  • Deadline May 15

Lumby Family Scholarship

  • Predominantly enrolled at the Kent State Twinsburg Academic Center
  • Minimum cumulative 2.7 G.P.A.

Gerry and Sally Hornick Endowed Scholarship for Middle Childhood Education

  • Middle Childhood Education major enrolled at Kent State Geauga
  • Minimum cumulative 2.5 G.P.A.
  • Sophomore, junior or senior standing
  • Deadline May 15

Twinsburg Township and the Village of Reminderville J.E.D.D. Scholarship

  • Applicants must be (1) a resident of Twinsburg Township, or the village of Reminderville, OR (2) a qualifying employee in the J.E.D.D. area, OR (3) the spouse/child/stepchild of a qualifying employee in the J.E.D.D. area.
  • Applicants claiming eligibility under employment or dependent status of a qualifying employee must state both the name of the employee and the name of the employer on the application.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in at least one class at the Twinsburg Academic Center.
  • Applicants must be pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree.
  • Applicants must submit three letters of recommendation.
  • Applicants must submit a 300-word personal statement.
  • Deadline May 15

  • A parent is/was a Geauga County Public School employee or Kent State Geauga student who is a Geauga County resident
  • Applicant must be enrolled at Kent State Geauga

Kent Honors Academic Achievement Awards

  • Minimum cumulative 3.5 G.P.A.
  • Sophomore, junior or senior standing who attended a Kent State Regional Campus
  • Applicant must be enrolled in 12 or more credit hours at the Kent Campus per semester
  • Separate application required - Please call the Honors College at 330-672-2312
  • Due June 15

LifeShare Community Blood Services Scholarship

  • Applicant must be an undergraduate student
  • Minimum cumulative 2.5 G.P.A.
  • Six credit hours must have been completed at Kent State Geauga and/or Twinsburg Academic Center
  • Applicant must be enrolled in at least six credit hours at Kent State Geauga and/or Twinsburg Academic Center
  • Applicant must have active involvement in ongoing community service
  • Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident
  • Scholarship must be used for tuition
  • Applicants do not need to be donors to be eligible to apply
  • Deadline May 15

Colleen Major Endowed Nursing Scholarship

  • Applicant must be accepted into the B.S.N. nursing program (second-year student or beyond)
  • Applicant must be a Kent State Geauga student
  • Deadline May 15

David and Connie Mohan Endowed Scholarship for the Twinsburg Academic Center

  • Applicant must have the preponderance of enrolled hours be located at the Twinsburg Academic Center
  • Applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours
  • A resident of Northeast Ohio
  • Applicant must have completed 12 or more credit hours of university coursework
  • Minimum cumulative 2.75 G.P.A.
  • Two letters of recommendation that support the applicant's academic achievement and community engagement are required
  • Deadline May 15

Robert O. and Annamae Orr Family Foundation Scholarship

  • Minimum cumulative 2.70 G.P.A.
  • Applicant must have earned 12 credit hours
  • Applicant must be a resident of Summit or Stark County
  • Applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours at the Twinsburg Academic Center
  • Deadline May 15

PuroClean Book and Supplies Scholarship

  • Applicant must be enrolled full-time at Kent State Geauga and the Twinsburg Academic Center
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 G.P.A. 
  • Applicant must be in their junior or senior year and a business major

Returning Adult Student Scholarship (Full Time)

  • Minimum cumulative 2.5 G.P.A.
  • Minimum 1-year lapse in education
  • Applicant must have completed two semesters at Kent State Geauga
  • Minimum 24 credit hours completed
  • Applicant must not have completed a prior degree
  • Applicant must be at least 21 years old
  • FAFSA on file
  • Deadline May 15

Returning Adult Student Scholarship (Part-Time)

  • Minimum cumulative 2.5 G.P.A.
  • Minimum 1-year lapse in education
  • Applicant must have completed two semesters at Kent State Geauga
  • Applicant must have completed 6-23 credit hours
  • Applicant must not have earned a prior degree
  • Applicant must be at least 21 years old
  • FAFSA on file
  • Deadline May 15

Rotary Club of Chardon

  • A Resident of the Chardon School District communities attending any private or public school
  • Minimum cumulative 2.5 G.P.A.
  • Applicant must have completed 12 hours of college or university coursework (at any college or through College Credit Plus)
  • Two letters of reference are required, with at least one from a faculty member
  • Preference will be given based upon financial need
  • Current FAFSA on file
  • Deadline May 15

Dr. Molly Sergi Endowed Scholarship in History

  • Applicant must be a History major or a returning non-traditional student
  • Applicant must be predominantly enrolled at Kent State Geauga
  • Sophomore, junior or senior standing
  • Minimum cumulative of 2.6 G.P.A.
  • Deadline May 15

Spitz Memorial Fund

  • Minimum cumulative of 2.5 G.P.A.
  • Applicant must be a returning student
  • Applicant must have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours at Kent State Geauga
  • Preference is given to an applicant with a declared Bachelor of General Studies (Integrative Studies) major
  • Applicant must be enrolled in 3 or more credit hours each semester
  • No FAFSA required
  • Deadline May 15

Student Barnes & Noble Book Scholarship

  • Minimum cumulative of 2.8 G.P.A.
  • Applicant must be enrolled in at least six credit hours
  • The scholarship may only be used at the Kent State Barnes & Noble Bookstore (in person or online)
  • Deadline August 1

Technology Scholarship

  • Applicant must be enrolled in I.T., C.O.M.T. or the B.T.A.S. degree with a computer concentration
  • Applicant must be registered to attend Kent State Geauga and/or the Twinsburg Academic Center
  • Minimum cumulative 2.5 G.P.A.
  • Deadline May 15

Keith and Mamie Tompkins Endowed Scholarship for Middle Childhood Education

  • Geauga County resident
  • Minimum cumulative 2.5 G.P.A.
  • Sophomore, junior or senior standing
  • Applicant must have a declared Education major with a focus or emphasis on science or math
  • Financial need can be considered but is not required
  • Deadline May 15

Walkway Scholarship

  • Geauga County resident
  • Applicant must be a new, incoming freshman
  • Applicant must enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 high school G.P.A.
  • Deadline May 15

Terry Weaver Nursing Scholarship

  • Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Portage or Trumbull County resident
  • Applicant must be enrolled in the B.S.N. sequence at Kent State Geauga
  • Sophomore, junior or senior standing
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 G.P.A.
  • Applicant must submit a personal statement of interest
  • Two letters of recommendation must be submitted
  • Deadline May 15
