Academic Advising
Meeting with an Academic Advisor is the key to success!
The Kent State Geauga and Twinsburg Academic Center advising team is ready to help you. Advising is currently being done via virtual and phone appointments. Appointments can be scheduled by visiting Kent's Advising website. Please choose the campus location where you take the majority of your classes from the dropdown menus: Kent State Geauga-Burton or Kent State Geauga-Twinsburg Academic Center.
Required Advising
- Freshmen and Sophomores are required to meet with an advisor every semester to schedule classes. Students will not be able to register for classes if they do not meet with an advisor.
- New students must be admitted and have taken any required placement tests before meeting with an advisor. For more information, visit our Newly Admitted Students page.
- College Credit Plus (CCP) students need to request an appointment with Jeremi Weidner or Matt Fink. For more information, visit our CCP page.
- Students interested in the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) must attend an information session before meeting with an advisor. For more information, visit our Nursing ADN page.
Academic Advising plays an essential role in helping students formulate sound educational and career plans based on their interests, abilities, and academic classification.
Students who work with an academic advisor increase their chances for satisfaction and success in completing an academic degree. Proper advising can help students grow intellectually while expediting their degree completion. Undergraduates and graduates are advised in the collegial unit of their major.
